Automation flow: What happens if the end date of the campaign is before the activation time of the trigger?
Automation flows play a fundamental role in email marketing campaigns. Because of this, it's important to understand how the flow works and what happens if the campaign end date is earlier than the time it takes for the trigger to send.
An automation flow is a series of automated steps that are triggered when a user meets certain predefined criteria, such as subscribing to a mailing list, opening an email, clicking a link, etc.
These flows are designed to interact and communicate with users in a personalized and relevant way at different points in their journey. These moments may include welcoming a new subscriber, event reminders, sales or special promotions, among others.
It is common that on certain occasions we find ourselves in the situation where the campaign end date in the automation flow is earlier than the time it takes for the trigger to be sent. what happens in this case?
The reality is that once the automation flow ends, no more responses are sent. This means that if the time required to activate the trigger exceeds the set end date, the responses will not be sent as expected.
Let's see the following example:
Suppose that today is 12/10/2022 (to be aligned with the example). The response would be sent in 3 days, but the automation flow ends today at 11:18. This means that the answers will not be sent.
In this case, the automation flow ends before the trigger has a chance to send the response. As a result, users will not receive the expected responses within the flow.
