Can UTMs be added to Push Notifications?
By using UTMs (Urchin Tracking Modules), we can track and analyze the performance of Push Notifications sent from the Icomm platform. However, a very common question regarding the configuration of these Push Notifications is: can UTMs be added to these shipments? In this article, we explain the behavior of UTMs in Push Notifications.
Before we dive deeper, it's important to understand how these automated submissions are identified in analytics tools like Google Analytics. For automated Push Notifications, they may show up in analytics reports with specific names like "aws-retargeting -> winback" and "ecommerce-> retargeting -> retargeting". These names allow you to more effectively identify and track campaign performance.
Unfortunately, in most cases, it is not possible to directly modify the UTMs in automatic push notifications. This is because the associated UTMs are generated internally in the Icomm platform.
Unlike automatic shipments, manual Push Notifications shipments offer greater flexibility to modify the associated UTMs. Manual sends are typically created on an ad hoc basis and sent to a specific audience, allowing UTMs to be added or customized based on the tracking and analytics needs of the particular campaign. In these cases, you can adjust the UTMs to better measure the performance of your campaigns and understand the impact of push notifications on website traffic or conversions.
This option is available for Exit Popup notifications on the Icomm platform. When configuring the widget, you can customize the parameters of UTMs for tracking in Google Analytics.
Enter the option "UTM Parameters for Google Analytics. - Configure"
Modify the monitoring parameters of the Push Notification.
