How it works and when to use Engagement Control in Icomm
Engagement control in Icomm is a functionality that allows contacts to be negative based on the level of interaction (engagement) that users have had with the shipments. The following explains how it works and in which cases this tool can be used.
Engagement Control is an alternative way to negativize contacts in Icomm. Instead of completely excluding them from the lists, this process ranks them according to their level of commitment to the shipments made
To determine engagement, Icomm evaluates whether contacts have interacted with emails sent in specific campaigns within a defined time period. Contacts who do not show interaction (for example, they have not opened or clicked on the emails) will be considered "unengaged" and therefore negativized.
Engagement Control can be useful in various cases and automations, especially when you want to avoid sending emails to contacts who have not shown interest in recent communications. Some usage examples include:
Re-engagement campaigns: Before launching a campaign to try to reconnect with inactive contacts, engagement control can be applied to identify and negativize those who have not interacted with previous messages.
List Cleaning: Engagement monitoring can be used as part of a periodic contact list cleanup process, temporarily removing unengaged ones to avoid impacting sending metrics.
Optimization of shipments: By negativizing unengaged contacts, the reach of campaigns can be optimized, ensuring that shipments are directed to the most engaged and receptive audiences.
To apply Engagement Control in Icomm, the option must be selected when Scheduling a Shipment. There you can define the days/months and specific campaigns in which you want to evaluate the commitment. These options are found in the Shipping Options tab of the settings.
It is important to note that commitment control is a tool that should be used with caution. It is recommended that you carefully analyze the criteria and implications before implementing this functionality.
