How to abort a send (or send configuration) in Icomm

Sometimes situations arise where it is necessary to stop a shipment that is already in process. However, this is possible depending on the stage of the shipment and the associated data.

When can a shipment be aborted?

Status SCHEDULED :
In this state it is possible to abort the configuration since the sending is not yet being processed. That is, it is still pending shipment.

Status PROCESSING:
When a submission is in "PROCESSING" status, it means that internal processing of the data is taking place. If the send is aborted at this stage, once processing is complete, the send will be automatically canceled and nothing will be sent to the recipients.

Status IN-PROGRESS:
If the send is in "IN-PROGRESS" status but has not yet started sending, there is still a window of opportunity to abort it. At this stage, you can stop sending and prevent any content from being sent.

Sending in generation process:
However, once the shipment is in the "IN-PROGRESS" state and the build has already started, there is no way to stop it. It is important to note that shipment data is processed in batches of at least 5,000 records. This means that if your shipment contains less than that amount of data, it will be generated in its entirety and sent to the recipients.

How to abort a send configuration

It is possible to abort a shipping configuration from the List Configurations section in the Schedule Shipments module.

Enter the module Delivery Configurations
Access List Configuration
Select the Send Status in which the configuration is located.
You can abort the shipment as long as it is in one of the states mentioned above.

Access the advanced options menu
Select the Abort option

Confirm that you want to abort the sending

With these steps the shipping configuration will be cancelled.
