How to add an extra field to a regular profile already created?

If you've already generated contact profiles on the Icomm platform, it's important to note that you won't be able to add new fields directly to those profiles. This is because the database is fixed with the existing fields at the time of contact import.

However, before importing your contacts, it's a good idea to create a profile structure that includes the necessary fields and the possible ones you might need in the future. In this way, you will be prepared to collect additional information from your contacts without having to modify existing profiles.

Here's how to create your profile structure and how to make changes if you haven't imported contacts yet:

Access the Manage Contacts module.
Select the New Profile option to create a profile from scratch or edit an existing one.
Create a profile "Structure" containing the fields you need to collect from your customers. Be sure to include those fields that you may need in the future. You can add fields like name, address, phone number, product preferences, etc.

It is important to note that you can make changes to the profile structure while you do not have contacts loaded. Once you have imported contacts or manually added one to the database, the structure will be fixed and you will not be able to modify it.

How to make changes to the profile if you haven't imported contacts yet:

Go to the Manage Contacts module.
Go to the List profiles section and find the profile you want to make changes to.
Click the arrow for advanced options to display additional options.
Select the Edit option to modify the structure of the profile.

Remember that once a contact has been uploaded to the database, either manually or through import, the profile structure will be fixed and you will not be able to make changes. Therefore, it is essential to plan and define the required fields before you start importing contacts.

By following these recommendations you will be able to anticipate future needs. You will be able to establish a solid and adaptable profile structure that allows you to collect relevant information from your clients and optimize your strategies.
