How to create Newsletter SMS

Create a piece for SMS shipments. Learn the details of this template option on the Icomm platform.


  1. Go to the Create News menu
  2. Select Create Newsletter
  3. Select the SMS template



Before entering the editor, complete some important information:


  1. Select the Campaign to which the piece will belong
  2. Write Name and Description: for internal use (can be the same)
  3. Click the Continue button



You will be redirected to the piece editor:



SMS pieces are composed of text only. The message cannot exceed 160 characters. (The enter key within the piece is identified as a character.)


Custom Fields


The editor allows you to add custom fields to the message text.


  • In the top column on the right-hand side, General Fields, you can select generic options for custom fields.


This function can only be applied if the database (profile) contains the data chosen to personalize the fields.


  • In the lower right-hand column, Profile Fields, you can select the fields that the profile database contains to personalize the message.



  1. Finalize



Choose the following options:


Preview: preview the content of the newsletter that the recipient will see.

Save: save the changes to the piece during its design.

Save and Exit: save the changes and exit the editor. Allows you to make changes again.

Approve and Create Send: approve the piece and configure the message sending.
