# How to import contacts in Icomm (create database)

On the Icomm platform, creating databases and managing your contacts is an essential task for your email marketing strategy. You can import contacts from Excel files or do it manually, giving you full control over your subscriber lists. Additionally, you can also import databases to unsubscribe contacts. Below, we show you how to perform these actions in a simple way.

# Importing Contacts

1. Go to **Manage Contacts**
2. Select **Import Contacts**
3. Select the** Import** button

4. Select the **Profile**
Choose the profile you want to associate the database with. (Refer to the article on Creating a Profile)

5. Select the Source
* **CSV File**: select this option to load a database with an Excel file (CSV comma delimited).
* **Copy-Paste**: select to load the data manually

6. Define the Action
**Appened**: loads the contacts to the selected profile. Any existing contact will not be duplicated.
**Overwrite**: use this option to delete the data from the current profile and add new contacts.
**Appened or Update**: use this option to add new contacts and update existing ones.

7. Write a Reference
Brief description about the database (optional)

# How to Import Contacts from a CSV (Excel spreadsheet) file

Once the above steps are completed:

1. Select the **Profile**
2. Select **CSV File** Source
3. Select Action
4. Write Reference
5. Select the Add File button to choose a file from the PC or drag the file from the PC to the platform's File List.

6. Select the **Import** button to complete the upload

7. Select:
* **Import More**: to reload a CSV file
* **View Logs**: to see the loading status in another section of the platform

# How to Import Contacts - Copy-Paste (manual option)

Another option to import contacts is Copy-Paste. This method is manual. The user must write the data for each of the contacts on the platform.

1. Select the **Profile**
2. Select **Copy-Paste** Source
3. Select **Action**
4. Write Reference
5. Complete the contact fields on the platform separated by commas from your files.

6. Once the data is completed, select the **Import** button

7. Select:
* **Import More** to manually add new contacts
* **View Logs** to see the loading status in another section of the platform

# Unsubscribe

1. Go to **Manage Contacts**
2. Select the **Unsubscribe** button

3. **Choose the reason** for the unsubscription
* Unsubscribed Request
* Hotmail/Outlook Spam (JMRP)
* Yahoo Spam (FBL)
* Gmail Spam
* Reported Abuse
* Indecopi Unsubscribed Request
* Manually Unsubscribed
* AOL (FBL)
* Other (FBL) Programs
* API Unsubscriptions
* Unsubscribed by ICOMMKT Abuse Team

3. Select the **Source** of the file to import
* CSV
* Copy-Paste

4. Write a Reference

5. Select the **Add File** button to load a CSV file from the PC or drag the file from the PC to the File List on the platform. Write the contact data in case of selecting the Copy-Paste option.

6. Select the Import button to complete the upload
7. Select: 
* **Import More**: returns to the home screen to reload a database
* **View Logs**: access the status of the database loading in another section of the platform.
