How to set up an Abandoned Cart resend
The conversion of visitors into buyers is a constant priority in email campaigns. In this guide, we will show you how to set up automation to recover abandoned carts. That is, an email marketing campaign to encourage your customers to complete the purchase they did not finish on the website.
This strategy adds an additional step of great relevance. Those users who have already received our first email and, nevertheless, have not completed their purchase, will once again receive our communication. This translates into an additional opportunity to inspire and motivate them to take that final step and turn their interest into a concrete purchase.
To do this, you must set up automation on the Icomm platform as follows:
In the initial send, an email is sent to contacts who abandoned a cart in the last two days. Two days later, the email is resent to users who received the initial send and did not complete the purchase.
To automate the resend of the abandoned cart email two days after the initial send, you need to set an abandonment date of 4 days in the virtual profile. This ensures that the email is only sent to those who abandoned a cart exactly 4 days ago and have not made a purchase since then.
When scheduling the send, you should select the profiles for the First Send and Resend and exclude buyers from these sends. This way, contacts who made the purchase after receiving the first send or the resend of the abandoned cart email will be excluded.
Also, it is essential to plan the resend time properly. In this case, it is suggested to send a single shot per day, instead of sending emails every hour. This allows users enough time to consider their purchase and avoids flooding their inboxes with repetitive messages.
When scheduling the resend of the abandoned cart email, you should select the "Enable Send with Repetition" option and configure it as follows:
