How to unify or update databases in Icomm

Icomm allows you to unify and update databases through the options to import contacts. In this way, you can create new databases directly from the platform without the need to resort to tools such as Excel.

Updating a database



To update a database, the key will be to select the appropriate type of load for the new data.

Go to the Manage Contacts module
Select the Import Contacts option
Select the Import button
Select the Profile
Choose the profile you want to associate the database with. (Refer to the article on Creating a Profile)
Select the Origin of the database you want to load
CSV file: select this option to load a database with an Excel file (comma-delimited CSV).
Copy Paste: select to manually load the data



Define the Action
This point is crucial if you want to update or unify databases.



Select the option you want to perform:
Appened: loads new contacts into the selected profile. Existing contacts will not be duplicated.
Overwrite: use this option to delete the data from the current profile and add new contacts.
Appened or Update: use this option to add new contacts and update existing ones. This option is the one to use if you want to unify databases. In this way, you can add the databases you want in CSV files and, in turn, the profile will be updated with the new data.
