What determines the entry of an email in the different inboxes?

Icomm does not determine in which inbox the emails sent from its platform are classified. It is the responsibility of the mail providers to classify the emails in the different inboxes. Factors such as sender reputation, email authentication, and message content will be key to increasing the chances of delivery to the primary inbox.

To maximize the chances of delivery to the primary inbox, Icomm recommends:

Maintain a good sender reputation: Make sure you maintain a strong sending history, properly handle spam reports, and keep mail authentications such as SPF and DKIM up-to-date.

Create relevant and personalized content: Personalize your emails according to the interests and needs of your recipients. Avoid excessive use of sensitive keywords and make sure your links and attachments are safe.

Monitoring and Analytics: Use Icomm's tracking and analytics tools to monitor the delivery rate and engagement of your emails. This will help you identify potential issues and optimize your shipping strategies.

What determines whether an email is assigned to a particular folder?

Sender reputation and mail authentication:

Sending History: If the sender has a consistent history of sending quality, relevant emails, their messages are more likely to be delivered to the primary inbox.

Bounce Rate: If emails sent by the sender have a high bounce rate (i.e. undeliverable), email providers may consider future messages less trustworthy and may classify them into child folders.

Spam Reports: If recipients frequently mark emails from the sender as spam, email providers may take this as a sign that the messages are spam and put them in the spam folder.

Mail Authentication: Senders can use authentication protocols such as SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) to prove the legitimacy of their emails. These authentications can help improve sender reputation and increase the chances of delivery to the primary inbox.

Email content:

The content of the email also plays a big role in your ranking. Email providers scan text, links, and attachments for signs that the message is legitimate or not.

Keyword Filters: Email providers use algorithms to detect keywords or phrases that are often associated with spam or unwanted content. Avoiding excessive use of sensitive keywords can help improve delivery to the primary inbox.

Relevance and personalization: Personalized and relevant emails tend to have a higher chance of being delivered to the main inbox. Senders must ensure that they send messages that are relevant to the interests and needs of the recipients.

Links and Attachments: Suspicious links or attachments can lead to mistrust in email providers and lead to spam folder placement. It is important to use safe links and only attach relevant and safe files.
